The event was held at the Beacon Hill Holiday Inn in Boston MA. There were plenty of tears as well as laughter during their emotion filled ceremony. After we took a quick trip to the roof for a few couple portraits we headed back in for their fun dance filled reception.

Their coordinator did such a wonderful job with the table settings and colors. I loved the chalkboard dinner menu and the great metal lanterns that lined the seating area.

From the first dance to the speeches to the fun dance party, everyone was full of smiles, hugs and laughter!
Oh, and for the grand finale? The wedding party jumped into the pool! After bit of coaxing from Patrick, Kim joined in too!!

(As did I. And for anyone out there concerned: my camera is a-ok! It never went under water, not once. Nor did I!
Besides, it’s a Nikon, they take a lickin’ and keep on … oh, wait, that’s Timex. Anyhow, the camera is fine!)

The day after the ‘party in the back yard’ and the beach bonfire, came the wedding day. The gentlemen got ready at the Miceli’s home, Seabiscuit and the ladies got ready at a private residence, Gumelemi Bluff.
Patrick got all of his guys a pair of Sperry Top-Siders and all Kim’s ladies wore a gorgeous coral pink gown. I loved when Kim went outside and plucked an orchid right off of a tree out front for her hair (awesome!)

The ceremony was held on the Pink Sand Beach, the same beach where Patrick proposed to Kim. It was such a beautiful & meaning filled ceremony. I adored hearing the words Kim + Patrick wrote for one another & I loved seeing the happy tears flow (yes, I cried too!)

Right after the ceremony, Patrick + Kim and their bridal party got into golf carts and made their way through town towards Gumelemi for their reception. Check out the decor on their own cart! So cute!!
Along the way, Patrick + Kim were greeted by the locals: hands were shaken, waves were returned, beers were given!
We made a few stops to capture some fun photos of everyone and by far my most favorite location was the Lone Tree. The tide worked in our favor so we could do a quick shoot out there!

Patrick grew up going to Harbour Island; he is pretty much the island’s ‘unofficial’ Mayor. (No joke! Wait for their wedding post, you’ll see!) And my goodness, what an island it is!  They call Briland the home of friendly people, and if someone wasn’t waving hello, smiling or singing, they were probably doing all 3. On top of that, Kim + Patrick’s family & friends are just amazing people. Warm, welcoming, full of life and definitely love.

My first night of coverage began at their rehearsal dinner. It was held at Romora Bay Sunsets Bar & Grille. Everywhere you looked were pops of bright color and happy faces. And oh the sunset there – *swoon*
After the dinner, everyone headed to Daddy D’s to dance the night away!

But enough talk, below is a collection of images from the evening:

The following night they had a laid back ‘party in the backyard’ at the family’s home, Seabiscuit. They served up the local drinks, Goombay Smash & Kalik Beer, local tunes, and loads of yummy local food.
After, we took the short walk to the beach, where they had the most fantastic bonfire I have ever seen.  A very relaxing way to spend the night before the big day.

Their intimate reception was held at the lovely Waterman Grille in Providence RI. Everyone was all smiles and laughter!
I loved their fun cake topper as well as their cute little forks to eat their cake with! So so cute!! Not to mention a friend of hers made the cake, so beautiful, so talented!

They recently tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles CA, surrounded by close friends and family. Since Valentine’s Day is their 7th year anniversary, and Melissa & Alex are in the RI area again, Alex’s sister called me to set up a couple shoot as a gift to the newlyweds. I met them at Melissa’s parent’s home In North Scituate RI.

I loved being with these two, they were laughing and giggling and smooching like they just fell in love yesterday. I adore the way Alex looks at Melissa and Melissa has this glow that sort of reaches out and holds you tight like a hug! I am also quite in love with the fact that they are getting a puppy soon, a Corgi, whose name will be Waffles, Inspector Waffles!
